Senior Director of Marketing – Performance and Sales
Department: Marketing
Reports To: VP of Performance Marketing
Status: Exempt-Full Time

As NJPAC’s Senior Director of Marketing you’ll report to, and work with, the VP of Marketing. You’ll be responsible for the creation, supervision and execution of targeted NJPAC marketing plans in support of all performance sales efforts. This includes efforts for on-site and off-site performances, including a variety of genres (Family, Jazz, Pop, Dance, Rock, Variety, Classical, R&B and Comedy). You’ll manage a team of performance marketers and work closely with the marketing team of 25. Plus working closely with the entire institution including programming, development, arts education and community engagement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Senior marketing and sales leader in charge of all selling activities with the primary responsibility of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Responsible for all ticket sales revenues including but not limited to single tickets, groups, marketing promotions and remote box office opportunities.
- Responsible for developing and implementing budget for performances marketing spending.
- Coordinates ticket sales efforts with other departments as warranted.
- You’ll coordinate all marketing buys with media outlets (traditional and non traditional), including digital elements such as social media posts
- Seeks out and targets new audiences and new selling opportunities.
- Develop marketing plans with artist and final report for day of show
- Manage a team of marketers
- Manage day of show marketing and pr expectations with the team
- Collaborate with programming, ticketing, loyalty services, development, arts education, community engagement and others
- You’ll work closely with creative services on all design requests
- You’ll work with the Public Relations team to get press coverage for on-site and off-site programs and events.
- You’ll generate a demographic analysis for each performance genre in order to market effectively. This may include preparation of data and geo reports on customer types, income distribution etc.
- You’ll set benchmarks to analyze and report on sales and engagement with your performance and program areas.
- You’ll be responsible for the ticket requests, budgeting, reporting and settlements for each performance or event.
- You’ll research new media outlets, maintain relationships with current media outlets, and work with both to create fun and enticing promotion concepts.
A little bit about you:
- You have 5-10 years of marketing experience in the arts/concert industry working with diverse audiences as well as demonstrated digital marketing experience (content, email and online marketing resulting in conversions and sales).
- You’re creative! You can listen carefully and come up with unique marketing ideas.
- You’re articulate and excited to talk, both on and off the page.
- You have a demonstrated knowledge of NJ/ NY media outlets and a strong network.
- You have experience buying and negotiating buys with media outlets.
- You’re an analytical thinker and understand how to work within a budget.
- You thrive under pressure, in fast-paced environments, and with competing deadlines.
- You’re able to work a flexible schedule, including select night and weekend
- You love pivoting between collaborative and individual work.
- You’re a self-starter and enjoy managing your own workload, communicating your needs, and transparently communicating.
- Must be fluent in digital and social media as well as sensitive to developing entertainment trends.
- Strong motivational, innovative, and interpersonal skills;
