How You'll Make a Difference:
Database design and creation based on application specifications
IMS Catalog support
IBMHP utility experience
Manage all aspects of an IMS database allocation: DASD DBDS/POOL, full function and HALDB space management, compression, encryption, DB utility creation and scheduling, performance/tuning, native IMS tools
Migrate database through multiple levels of test/production IMS environments
Creation and execution of ACB, PSB, DBD, MOD BLOCKS, DYNA, DBRC
Manage backup, recovery, reorganization, tuning, replication, performance
Interface with security and masking teams
Identification of security requirements
Work with application teams through our change management and problem resolution tool (Service Now)
24x7 pager support rotating with team member
Weekend support for monthly application releases and DB Maintenance required.
Develop and manage a disaster recovery plan for all production databases
Work on complex projects with team sizes varying from 2 to 50
Work projects simultaneously spanning multiple applications/releases
Work with peers to develop and improve controls, stream-line procedures and documentation
Work with peers and application developers to understand, test, exploit, and implement current and new technology/functionality.
Communication with varying levels from Senior Management as well as developers and business resources.
Continually seek opportunity for automation and cost reduction, through new technology exploitation, and environment assessments.

What you should have:
5+ years as a IMS DBA in a large and complex environment
Experience supporting production and non-production databases
Experience demonstrated with performance tuning, design
Experience with most ZOS mainframe tools such as DFDSS, IDCAMS, IEDBDG, HSM, Eztrieve, FILEAID/IMS, TSO, JCL, IBM, HALDB.
Performance monitoring tools such as Omegamon, IMS DC Monitors, STROBE, ZOWE, IMS ADMIN, IBM ITKB and autonomics Director.
Familiar with scheduling tools.
Experience demonstrated engaging various vendors such as IBM for database problems and related questions. Ability to open tickets, ftp documentation and work closely with vendors to determine root cause and resolution.
Exposure to ASSEMBLER, REXX, CLISTS programming are a plus.
Experience using Dynamic Resource Definition(DRD) a plus.
IMS catalog experience a plus.
IBM ITKB experience a plus.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 97,600 - 162,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
