Position Overview:
General Description
The Senior Manager, Marketing Strategic Procurement will be responsible for assisting with a variety of strategic activities including executing sourcing strategies, creating sourcing plans for assigned Indirect/Non-Merch categories of spend, and driving complex contracts and sourcing projects while managing multiple categories.
The Senior Manager will collaborate with Managers and Directors to build and execute against annual category strategies, will conduct market research and vet new and potential suppliers (as well as manage contractual relationships with existing suppliers), and ensure timely business review and compliance with KPIs and contract terms.
The Senior Manager will execute strategic sourcing events based on category sourcing cadence and business needs as appropriate and will develop and maintain strong partnerships with Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders.
Performance Requirements:

Support the implementation of best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Manage contracts and relationships for Ecommerce (Loyalty, Digital, Social Marketing vendors)
- Solid understanding and experience in eCommerce and digital marketing working with various channeled including email, paid social, display, search etc.
- Develop, manage, and coordinate Marketing category management strategies with brands marketing leaders.
- Maintain a focus on the following areas: contract negotiations and contract management, category strategies, savings identification, issue management, cross-functional stakeholder management, and supplier development.
- Negotiate complex contracts and leverage suppliers to secure advantageous terms while working closely with legal department; negotiate with suppliers to improve pricing, product quality, and delivery.
- Source and engage suppliers with a focus on total cost management to generate cost savings based off annual category strategies.
- Partner with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and Legal to execute agreements (i.e., MSAs, SOWs, Amendments, etc.).
- Fully manage assigned categories, programs or project activity that align with the savings goals and category strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with creation and execution of multi-year strategic sourcing pipeline with Directors and business stakeholders.
Work Experience and Education Requirements:
- 6+ years of procurement experience in addition to demonstration of the following skills: experience in negotiations, contract development and management, supplier relationship management, e-procurement, building and executing eRFx events.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a category-related field.
- Experience owning select procurement categories and leading sourcing initiatives or projects.
- Experience with e-Procurement and Contract Lifecycle tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Capable of building strong relationship with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Contract management experience and familiarity with complex contract structures, key metrics and performance indicators, terms, and conditions, etc.
- Ability to interpret metrics such as TCO, NPV and ROI.
- Outstanding analytical skills and organizational skills.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills with strong influencing skills – able to influence key partners, present at the VP level, and communicate appropriately with suppliers.
- Able to be self-directed and multi-task; prioritizes demands with manager support as needed.
- High energy and works well in teams.
- Previous experience Oracle, SAP, DocuSign, a plus.
- Advanced degrees and certifications including MBA, JD, Associate Purchasing Professional, Certified Purchasing Manager, and Project Management certifications a plus.
The target salary for this role is: $110,000-120,000. Actual compensation within that range is influenced by a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and other job-related factors.
