Description

SAIC has a funded need for a Senior Orbit Analyst to support a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer with cutting-edge programs within the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) in Chantilly, VA.

Note: The role offers a flexible work schedule, but we ask our team to be available for team meetings during core business hours (10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.).

Job Overview:

  • Utilize orbit analysis tools and application frameworks, and libraries working with a team of analysts to develop solutions to studies and analytic questions
  • Perform orbital mechanics modeling including orbit determination, orbital maneuvering, and spacecraft flight dynamics
  • Supporting Sensor phenomenology (optics/radar/RF)
  • Assist in advancing current and promising concepts to inform tactical decision making timelines.
  • Conduct analysis of mission data applicable to space vehicles and sensors
  • Work in a collaborative team environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of interesting and complex problems in the Space domain.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degrees in a STEM related field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace, Computer Science, etc. and and seven (7) years of experience; Masters and five (5) years of experience; PhD and 0-1 years of experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI w/Poly
  • Experience with some orbit modeling tools such as STK or Free-Flyer or similar tools
  • Experience with using a programming language
  • Desire to develop simulation software as required to complete analytic studies
  • Engineering analysis (collecting, organizing, analyzing data) experience
  • Excellent communication skills that will allow the presentation of findings to internal and external customers
