SCOPE OF WORK

The purpose of this position is providing support to the Sr. Program Coordinator by developing talent pool within CalFresh spectrum and ensuring business needs are met in a timely manner. The incumbent of this position will work alongside with the CalFresh SCC team and is responsible to track job ready customers and to recruit potential customers in order to fill business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provide support to Business Services Team by entering job orders in to CalJOBS and develop marketing flyers as needed.
  • Assist with organization of Job Squad workshop which may include – inviting businesses, developing/presenting weekly topics and collecting resumes.
  • Collects, organizes, and analyzes information about customers in “Talent Pool Bank” tracking tool (tests, interviews, abilities, employment interest, and character traits).
  • Matches customer’s job skills with business qualifications; refers qualified customers to Job Developers.
  • Initiates and maintains ongoing personal contacts with job ready customers and explains the benefits and employment supportive services provided based on eligibility.
  • Assists customers in preparing job search portfolio; provides mock interviews and may assist with interview arrangements.
  • Monitors participant job search progress and maintains open communication with Job Developers if training possibility becomes available.
  • Provides Supportive Services on a needs basis’s to eligible customers.
  • Maintains case management files, documents contact with customers, employers and other partners in Approte accurately and timely.
  • Prepares and modifies documents including correspondence, reports, memos and emails.
  • Serves as a customer liaison responding to customer problems, questions or concerns and coordinates with the proper agency personnel to provide timely and accurate answers for customers.
  • Follow-up with customers as appropriate to document use/success in employment referrals.
  • Remains updated on program requirements and regulations affecting participants and businesses.
  • Refers customers to other CSET program resources as applicable.
  • Participates in outreach events, job fairs and meetings with partner agencies as assigned.
  • Participates in training and professional development to build required knowledge for the position.
  • Performs other duties including by not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of local labor market and employer expectations.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the various company programs and the ability to communicate policy information in a clear and detailed manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.

Possession of Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and/or one to two years related experience and/or training’ or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum one-year experience providing services to low-income persons.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; Ability to speak effectively with groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures for recording & tracking purposes; Ability to apply basic recordkeeping principles.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS California Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.

Salary Range: $18.38-$25.04 hourly/ $3185.87-$4340.27 monthly/ $38230.40-$52083.20 annually
