SUMMARY

The Senior Program Specialist is responsible for implementing tasks and deliverables associated with the Immigrant Integration team’s projects. Responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including UnidosUS Affiliates and external partners focusing on immigration legal services. The immigrant integration team is focused on building and sustaining capacity in immigration legal services and supporting pilot programs to eliminate barriers that hinder immigrants from reaching their full potential. The team works with UnidosUS Affiliates and partners to establish and grow immigration legal services programs and innovate programs and supports for immigrants. Responsibilities include serving as a resource for UnidosUS Affiliates by providing examples of effective practices and serving as a connector for peer-to-peer learning. Success in this collaborative role requires a well-organized advocate for community-based organizations working with immigrants, experience working with immigrant communities, and substantive knowledge of federal immigration policy.

SALARY: $59,053 - $66,621


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create and disseminate templates and content for communications with Affiliates, including information on trainings, practice advisories, and updates on immigration policy.
  • Provide technical assistance to Affiliates and partners, including facilitating online trainings and peer-to-peer exchanges.
  • Report on the outcomes from immigrant integration programs, gathering quarterly and/or final reports from Affiliates, as well as developing and maintaining a repository for the information. Assist with administrative aspects of project management.
  • Maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of U.S. immigration policy, particularly related to DACA, TPS, other relief for undocumented immigrants, and naturalization, and be informed of changes in regulations or policies.
  • Assist in analyzing policy changes and drafting comments or other written materials on changes in regulations or policy guidance.
  • Participate in meetings and conferences relevant to immigration legal services.
  • Represent UnidosUS in relevant conferences and meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Five to seven years of experience in immigrant integration programs preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the Latino community.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite more specifically, Office 365.
