Our client is partner-owned real estate focused principal investing firm launching a Build to Rent platform across the Southeast USA. They have tied up a significant amount of land and are forming their core team to successfully launch the platform from Charlotte. - Exposure: This person will be the sole Analyst of a major BTR platform and have their name on numerous marquee development projects in the region.
What you’ll do as the Senior Real Estate Analyst:
- Working directly for the BTR Managing Director, lead financial analyses of development opportunities, assisting in the underwriting and closing of real estate transactions, interfacing with brokers, equity partners, institutional clients, and the Company’s development leadership, and tracking and reporting on the status of transactions.
Responsibilities of a Senior Real Estate Analyst:
- Conducts financial analysis of development opportunities, including the creation of detailed pro-forma and financial models.
- Gathers, compiles, investigates, and analyzes market data to identify potential development opportunities, and prepares narrative development memoranda, detailed reports, and market summaries that provide insights on proposed acquisitions.
- Establishes and maintains productive relationships with local market brokers, institutional and equity partners, lenders, real estate owners, and other key stakeholders, and appropriately manages on-going communications related to proposed development transactions.
- Organizes, leads, and/or participates in the due diligence on properties under contract, and develops documentation and recommendations on key findings that may affect the return and financial performance of the proposed deal.
- Analyze and monitor the financial performance of properties including financial modeling, benchmarking to budget, and collaborating with management in executing business plans
- Monitors and reports on the status and progress of proposed development transactions within the assigned geographic region, establishes critical timelines and deadlines for tasks and activities related to the proposed transaction, and identifies and effectively addresses issues or problems that could otherwise adversely affect closing.
What you’ll need to be the Senior Real Estate Analyst:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Business, Finance or Accounting
- 3-5+ years of related analysis experience within real estate development industry
- Financial, accounting, market analysis, due diligence and underwriting backgrounds are all highly preferred
- Be a wiz with excel and have experience using profomas extensively
- Professional experience working within a start-up or high-growth environment would be a plus
