SRS delivers full-service facility and infrastructure engineering design, environmental science, construction management and munitions response services worldwide, with over 25 years of successful project performance.
This experienced environmental practitioner will focus on leading and directing project/task execution supporting our Environmental Remediation practice. The ideal candidate will be a senior-level Engineer, responsible for the performance of the project team and providing clients with high-quality deliverables on time and on budget. Responsibilities of this position include:
- As project manager, provide leadership and oversight of planning, project team activities and progress, deliverable quality, cost estimating, cost and schedule control
- Monitor client satisfaction with performance through periodic meetings, telephone calls, and written correspondence. Keep the SRS leadership fully informed on matters likely to cause unfavorable client relations, and solicit their guidance in overcoming such problems
- Manage people and equipment in a manner that utilizes their full capacity while allowing project completion in a timely and efficient manner
- Serve as technical lead and manage large/complex projects involving soil, groundwater, and soil vapor assessment and remediation
- Possess demonstrated experience in site investigation, and remedial design and implementation
- Preparation of CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, and State of California remediation documents, management plans, and other technical environmental remediation documents. Perform technical reviews
- Manage and coordinate project staff and subcontractors to ensure safe, cost effective, efficient and timely completion of projects that meet and/or exceed our clients’ expectations
- Prepare engineering cost estimates in support of company proposal efforts
- Prepare, review, and certify project documents
- Provide expert-level consulting and problem-solving with internal and external customers
- Foster collaborative and productive work relationships including mentoring and training of junior and mid-level staff, and interfacing with company-wide engineering groups
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or other relevant scientific discipline
- Professional Engineer licensing (in California at a minimum)
- 10 plus years of relevant experience in environmental site investigation and remediation
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to environmental remediation.
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of groundwater, soil, and soil vapor characterization and remedial techniques and technologies
- Experience with managing environmental remediation sites involving hazardous and mixed wastes, free-phase product, etc
- Proficiency in MS Office products to include: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, including technical report writing and data evaluation capabilities as well as detailed field (on-site) observations and associated documentation
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, including being capable of tracking multiple simultaneous deliverables and deadlines, at times for multiple clients
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as the skills necessary to operate as a primary staff member or practitioner on various types of environmental projects
- Must comply with SRS’s quality standards and health and safety policies
- Employees in this position must be willing to travel
Preferred (not required) Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering or other relevant scientific discipline
- HAZWOPER 40-hour, and current on 8-hour refresher
