Absolute Software is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing Global Accounting Team in North America.

Preference will be given to candidates based in one of our major North American offices (Vancouver, BC, San Jose, CA, Austin, TX, Seattle, WA), but we will also consider remote candidates across North America.

Your Career

You’re a great fit for this role if you have working knowledge of SaaS revenue recognition, royalties, commissions, and/or accounts receivable. You are a problem solver who has a strong business acumen and can simplify complex problems in your communication (both oral and written). This role reports to our Manager of Revenue Accounting who is invested in the continued development of the team and your career.

Your Impact

• Prepare and review journal entries for worldwide revenue, accounts receivable, commissions and royalties
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for worldwide revenue, accounts receivable, commissions and royalties accounts
• Support department goals and process improvement initiatives, including:
  • Assist in implementing NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management and Salesforce CPQ.
  • Assist in transitioning accounts receivable from Great Plains to NetSuite for our SA business
  • Assist in implementing commissions 606 accounting software
• Assist in drafting technical memos to conclude on the Company’s key accounting positions
• Work closely with management and external auditors to ensure the company is compliant with revenue recognition principles under IFRS 15/ASC 606 and SOX

Your Experience

• 3+ years of revenue experience with 2 years minimally in a technical accounting role, ideally with experience with Public Companies
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS and primarily revenue recognition standards (ASC 606/IFRS 15)
• Excellent research abilities, strong technical writing skills, and experience/ aptitude in various challenging revenue recognition topics
• Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about issues, leading to recommendations and action plans
• Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels at the company
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Problem solver with a can-do attitude
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting; flexible, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced business environment
• Great time management skills
• BA/BS degree in Accounting. CPA or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
• Experience with a Big-4 accounting firm is strongly preferred.
