The IDEXX Discovery & Development team is looking for a highly motivated Sr. Scientist to drive the exploration of novel mRNA delivery technologies . The candidate will bring in-depth expertise in designing and preparing mRNA for immunogenic and/or therapeutic protein expression. The role requires creative and dynamic thinking to innovate unique approaches and applications.

What will you do?
Design, prepare, characterize and optimize novel mRNA encapsulation, formulation and delivery technologies
Use a range of state-of-the-art analytics
Characterize and optimize in vitro and in vivo performance
Optimize stability
Clearly articulate design, experimental results and conclusions to diverse audiences from a wide range of disciplines to drive actions and influence decisions
Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams to coordinate work, exchange information, and meet project milestone deliverables
Document experiments and other lab or production activities. Prepare reports and summaries
Maintain knowledge of products and procedures, developments in the field, and industry and regulatory environment. Adhere to appropriate procedures and regulatory requirements.
May participate in conferences, webinars, and seminars to continue to develop knowledge base.

What do you need to succeed?
Ph.D. with 0-2 years, masters with 5+, or bachelors with 10+ years of experience in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related scientific discipline required
Demonstrated success designing novel nucleic acid encapsulation and delivery technologies, processes and formulations required
Hands-on experience in lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation and associated processes required
Proficiency in relevant analytical techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, DLS, CD, zeta potential, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectrophotometry, SEM etc. required
Proficiency in synthesis and characterization of novel lipids desired
Experience in synthesis and characterization of lipid, polymer and inorganic nanoparticles for drug delivery applications desired
Working knowledge of drug delivery, pharmacokinetics, ADME, toxicity a plus
Experience with parenteral and controlled release formulations a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to influence decision making in a multidisciplinary, matrix environment
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to plan work and prioritize at individual, team, and program levels
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present to diverse audience
