The Sr. Software Engineer develops information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-stack application development, implementing new features to an established product and working to support existing customers.
- Angular development, building great experiences for users with a focus on mobile and tablet support.
- Accessibility: We build applications that are designed to be accessible to all patients. We care about the patient’s experience. Experience building international, multilingual, and highly accessible applications is a plus.
- Serverless Architecture: This application is completely serverless. Relying on modern FaaS, we scale instantly and maintain a low operating cost. Experience with FaaS such as Lambda, serverless databases such as DynamoDB, or similar technologies is a plus.
- Testing: We expect every developer to create high quality work that they’ve tested meets the acceptance criteria of a task. We maintain a high level of automated testing, experience writing unit tests and end-to-end tests is a plus.
- Information Security: We are HIPAA and SOC II compliant. This requires training and requires us to handle data securely. Experience building with secure applications and information assurance is a plus.
- Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
- Advanced familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with Angular or a similar frontend framework.
- A solid foundation in computer science with competency in data structures and software design.
- API Design and consumption. We integrate the use of many third-party APIs and design our application to be API-first. Experience building and following standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with a remote team. While many tasks may be performed independently the ability to work collaboratively if vital.
- Be passionate and motivated about your work. Our work requires significant attention to detail. It’s okay to mess up, but it’s important to own mistakes, grow, and improve for the future.
- Be capable of self-directed work. While work is planned thoughtfully with sprint planning meetings, your day-to-day work will have a lot of flexibility. You should be capable of getting your work done without someone checking in with you daily
- Be familiar with all aspects of modern application development, from designing databases with indexes, to writing backend code, unit and integration tests, to frontend development in a framework such as Angular. This is a for a senior role where you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to every aspect of the service.
