Position Description
Directly support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) In-Service Support Center (ISSC) at Fleet Readiness Center South West (FRCSW) Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California. Duties will include:
  • Acting as the overall lead, manager and administrator for the contracted effort.
  • Planning, directing, or coordinating IT operations and serving as the primary interface and point of contact with Government program authorities on technical and program/project issues.
  • Managing the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintaining the integrity and security of servers and systems. Sets up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintaining system documentation.
  • Interacting with users and evaluating vendor products.
  • Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinating installation and providing backup recovery.
  • Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • May program in an administrative language.
  • Developing and implementing testing strategies, and documenting results.
  • Providing advice and training to end-users.
  • Providing guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participating in special projects as required
Candidate will possess Comptia Security +. And within twelve months will obtain commercial certifications in Windows Server (at least 2012) and Windows Client (Windows 10), or as directed by Server Admin Manager.
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in systems administration and analysis.
Education: BS or BA degree in a Computer Science or "Relevant Technical Discipline". ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: The equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. Comptia Security + certification is required.
Current Secret clearance is required.
No per diem. Work location at NAS North Island, CA area. Start date is ASAP.
Salary Range- $55-65/ per hour.
Minimum Experience Requirements:

Minimum Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods, in an office environment. Must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. repetitively.
