Treliant is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer who will be responsible for supporting a large enterprise network across multiple locations, as well as designing, building, implementing, and maintaining multiple systems in a highly secure environment. This is a hybrid role which will require the individual to work in our Washington, DC office on occasion.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the build-out, installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance of systems and infrastructure, as directed by IT leadership, in a secure enterprise environment
- Plan, design, and integrate enterprise systems, including email, collaboration, and other online communications tools
- Create sound project implementation plans (design, testing, documentation, and training)
- Diagnose, isolate, and resolve systems problems, as well as identify and document root causes
- Proactively identify potential issues in the production environment and help recommend possible solutions
- Provide leadership and consultation on complex projects
- Be a top-level contributor and subject matter expert on all types of systems and infrastructure design and integration
- Collaborate well with others with the ability to define, document, and clearly communicate overall engineering decisions and direction
- Continuously monitor and support the network and servers in a mission-critical data center
Qualifications:
- BS degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline
- Demonstrated ability to lead others and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Be able to work independently, as well as part of a broader team
- Systems engineering experience must include a minimum of 8-10 years of implementation/configuration in an enterprise environment
- Cloud implementation, configuration, and integration experience
- Technical knowledge in IP networking and network architecture
- Technical skills in key areas of IT infrastructure (networking, security, remote access, disaster recovery, etc.)
Must also have knowledge of the following technologies:
- Office 365, Microsoft E3, E5 including Azure AD
- Microsoft Exchange, email routing
- Active Directory, Group policies
- Powershell scripting
- VMWare, Microsoft Azure
- Backup technologies including VEEAM
- VDI, Windows 365, Citrix
- Network tracing and troubleshooting (Wireshark, Fiddler)
- In-depth understanding of datacenter interconnectivity
- Server technology - Cisco UCS, Dell
- Disaster Recovery and replication technologies
- Operating Systems-Windows 2012 R2, 2016 (Standard and Enterprise), Linux
- Certificate Management
- Scripting skills
Additional desired skills and certifications:
- Networking Technologies, Firewall configuration (Cisco, Palo Alto), routing, switching
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)
