KeyLogic is currently searching for a Senior Windows Endpoint Services Analyst to support one of our Department of Energy contracts in the Albuquerque, NM area.

Currently, this position is onsite in Albuquerque. The selected candidate must be able to reliably commute or be open to relocating to the Albuquerque area. If offered the position, a government background investigation would be required for a security clearance. Since this position falls under the Department of Energy, the clearance does require exclusive US Citizenship (i.e., no dual citizenship).

In this role, you will be working with the Mission Computing Services (MCS) Engineering Endpoint IT support team. The MCS Engineering Endpoint IT support team provides a full IT systems and endpoint services supporting the DOE ND tailored IT needs to various engineering groups, in collaboration with other DOE partners. Work requested requires knowledge and abilities to benefit the MCS team by providing independent judgement for M&O activities related to IT equipment support and providing Windows OS endpoint or OT solutions. Other basic server administrator knowledge or abilities are required to support requests and related oversight from senior team members.

General daily tasks will include installation and M&O activities for windows-based endpoint systems, including facilitating purchases to advise standard and CIO approved equipment, installation in accordance with DOE processes, and deploying related non-standard OS configurations and application installations in compliance with DOE Cyber requirements. These systems may be attached to other integrated systems such as testers, cameras, or test equipment, and may include custom configurations or system OU configuration to support these. COTS and custom application installation and maintenance are performed periodically. Other tasks include networked systems infrastructure monitoring & maintenance, related OS patching, and systems or data backup monitoring and testing. May assist with basic tasks related to server install, upgrade and patching. Install and configure new and refreshed PC operating system builds for use in all security environments with little to no technical guidance. Proactively seeks out DOE subject matter expert or authority to understand and apply IT and Cyber Policies. Recommends solutions and remedies to technical challenges or issues to SDR or Customer Team Manager/Lead. May support PC or workstation equipment integrated to serial-based engineering equipment. Requires Windows OS install and refresh on equipment such as Oscilloscopes, National Instrument Testers equipment and customized engineering PC and workstations. Provides CIO approved software and OS installations. Assists with approved engineering software application installations. Deploy specified hardware to integrate to video conferencing systems as specified by the DOE VACT team. Maintains knowledge of and adherence to VACT standards for integration of KVMs, monitors, PCs or other equipment not supported by VACT for Mission customers. As needed, fully engages in ensuring end customer VTC meetings are successfully connected in a timely fashion and escalate issues to the VACT team. Time management skillset is required in order to handle overlapping conferencing connection requests. Bridge connections for Skype/Teams meetings across various computing environments with VACT systems as needed. Zero Client hardware installation and associated hardware and OS updates. As required, maintain hardware deployment usage statistics and reports these to the Customer Team Manager/Lead, in order to identify customer projects responsible for back filling stock items. Other tasks as assigned including tasks noted below for mid and basic support roles.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced equipment support for single user systems and the related system administration capabilities for Windows OS based endpoint, workstation, and pc systems. Independent judgement and related team updates and high-quality user communications are required.
  • Basic knowledge and skills in Window server OS and related server administrator best practices gained through education or entry level work experience is required. Knowledge in of use of select OS tools include IIS, PowerShell, Win Console and DNS server configuration is required.
  • End user support for installs and maintenance of pc, laptop, tablet and peripherals.
  • Windows OS install and refresh on OT equipment such as Oscilloscopes, National Instrument Testers equipment and other customized engineering PCs, workstations and equipment.
  • Equipment install and support of printers, plotters, scanners, and other peripherals, as well as other critical data collection equipment.
  • COTS and custom application installation and maintenance activities.
  • Documentation of work status in accordance with team standards.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA with 2 years of related experience
  • Requires advanced equipment support for single user systems and the related system administration capabilities for Windows OS based endpoint, workstation, and pc systems. Independent judgement and related team updates and high-quality user communications are required.
  • Requires basic knowledge and skills in Window server OS and related server administrator best practices gained through education or entry level work experience is required. Knowledge in of use of select OS tools include IIS, PowerShell, Win Console and DNS server configuration is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting windows-based systems integrated to serial interface engineering equipment
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile concepts and teaming
  • Knowledge of Windows based systems integrated to VTC systems
  • Ability to recommend advanced IT Windows OS solutions, and implementation once approved
  • Ability to provide RedHat Linux endpoint support including install, config, deploy, maintain and sunset end user type systems
