Job Title: SEO Specialist

Remote, work from home is acceptable for this role.

Purpose Statement:

Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position:

  • The SEO Specialist a team member of the Digital Lab Consumer Channels team within Client’s US Commercial Digital Lab and Serve as the SEO subject matter expert within the Client Digital Lab.
  • This role plays an integral part in driving strategy and delivery of SEO optimization and best practices across all U.S. commercial marketing brands. By partnering closely with the Digital Lab’s omni channel strategy planners, the specialist will audit, assess, and build effective SEO strategies for the brand marketing websites.
  • The specialist is responsible for being an expert in Search Engine Optimization and will review and assess agency provided POVs, provide guidance on SEO optimization topics for marketers and planners, and to design and execute SEO strategy and tactics leveraging an SEO enterprise platform/tool.
  • This role coordinates across cross-functional teams, technology teams and agency partners to align and execute on projects.
  • The specialist will lead the strategic pull through to ensure SEO initiatives are driving exceptional results.
  • Also included is the ownership for delivery and activation of more efficient processes including enterprise SEO governance, platform management and playbooks and best practice collation.
  • SEO platform strategy and direction – working closely with lab omni channel strategists and innovation to identify SEO priorities across franchise teams
  • Digital subject matter expertise and development of best-in-class operating model for fast, efficient project velocity from start to finish for SEO optimization initiatives
  • Deliver common frameworks and best in class solutions that are enterprise approved and usable across teams that drive faster adoption, faster project timelines
  • Lead forward looking visioning as to key capabilities needed within Consumer teams to drive forward key goals relative to brand imperatives

Major Responsibilities:

  • Understand the brands’ SEO goals and expectations (communicating with the marketing team to uncover SEO goals and ensuring client’s keywords reflect their business and SEO goals)
  • Complete an in-depth SEO analysis of the brands’ current websites including sitemap recommendations (structure, page names, redirects, etc.), content analysis and domain analysis/recommendations. Perform keyword research and competitive analysis
  • Respond to questions about SEO and campaigns from team members, support the brand team as the SEO subject matter expert.
  • Review agency POVs on SEO optimization and provide inhouse SME perspective and alternate solution options
  • Define features and benefits for new platform and Devise and execute methods to track, report, analyze and improve SEO performance
  • Distribute SEO updates and reports to internal marketing teams
  • Monitor all critical listings for accuracy over time keeping up-to-date and taking advantage of new features on critical listings. Ensure Google Search Console and Google Analytics are setup and accurate
  • Stay up to date on trends and tactics. Research and propose innovative ideas for industry relevant SEO optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment with Brand Marketing, Creative/CRM/Digital agencies, Media, Market Research, Analytics, Business Technology Solutions (BTS), Sales Operations, and Medical/Regulatory/Legal integrated business partners.
  • Partner closely with Medical/Regulatory/Legal/Privacy partners to educate, lead and help Client anticipate and balance organizational needs.
  • Troubleshoot roadblocks and identify creative and compliant solutions to facilitate forward motion of new initiatives.

Qualifications:

List required and preferred qualifications (up to 10). Include education, skills and experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Requires a minimum of 5+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in SEO strategy, digital customer experience or equivalent role managing large, complex digital ecosystems and multi-channel campaigns
  • Digital marketing experience required, and agency experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the product development and evaluation process. Exposure to Agile development necessary.
  • Requires strong collaboration and people skills to be effective managing through a highly matrixed organization
  • Skills required include business acumen, organizational assessment, creativity, and quantitative analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding communicator and comfortable interacting with a diverse group of technical and non-technical people
  • Purposeful, self-starter with passion for user experience, technology and digital transformation
  • A strategic mindset that allows you to prioritize projects, launches, and features, and balance immediate requirements with a long-term vision
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals or another highly regulated industry preferred
