Job Overview:

A Service Writer is responsible for assisting customers with their vehicle repair needs. Their duties include greeting customers, informing them about the types of services their shop offers, updating customers on the progress of their vehicle repairs, offering free vehicle road ready inspections, and processing customer transactions upon completion of their vehicle repairs. This position requires being friendly and hospitable to all customers who come through the door to provide the optimal customer experience to represent the Southern Tire Mart brand.

Responsibilities:

· Interact with customers, listen to their questions and provide timely responses.

· Educate clients about Southern Tire Mart products, services and offers.

· Provide hospitality to customers throughout entire experience at the store.

· Provide road ready safety checks on vehicles.

· Effectively communicate with service technicians to streamline operations.

· Schedule appointments, take orders, monitor service progress, calculate charges, and process payments.

· Order products that are needed to fulfil customer needs from wholesale or 3rd party vendors.

· Serve as a customer relationship manager.

· Serve as a link between customers and different departments in the organization.

Skills / Education:

· Retail sales, tire service, front desk experience preferred but not required.

· High School diploma or GED

• 10 key calculator skills

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Tech savvy (computer/tablets) for point of sale system and ordering.
