The Center for Women and Families – Sexual Assault Advocate

The Sexual Assault Advocate is responsible for providing medical advocacy and support in hospital and clinic settings to survivors of sexual assault across the Center for Women and Families service region. The Sexual Assault Advocate will provide counseling, advocacy, and case management to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, with a specialization in sex trafficking.
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to people of all identities who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of their trauma by reducing their risk factors and building their resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.
This position is scheduled for Sunday - Thursday, 8am - 4:30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate within The Center for Women and Families and with other coalitions, agencies, networks, organizations, and community partners, particularly in healthcare settings.
Provide trauma-informed services to clients affected by sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
Maintain job-related knowledge, expertise and skills through training and continuing education.
Support ongoing programmatic duties by participating in meetings, maintaining records, providing outreach services, and more.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
Fluency in languages other than English are a plus.
Developed sense of empathy.
Self-starter.
Organizational skills.
The Center requires the basic round of COVID vaccinations and highly recommends boosters. The Center also requires all employees to wear a mask and maintain a distance of 6 feet while working.
