Overview:
The Shift Engineer is responsible for the delivery of exemplary customer service to guests and team members. This position is empowered to exceed expectations with the highest standards, quality, and professionalism. The Shift Engineer will exemplify departmental and company core values, policies and procedures in both actions and attitude. The position is responsible for routine, preventive and emergency maintenance throughout the resort.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of routine, preventive and emergency maintenance throughout the resort.
- Perform all assignments with the highest quality work standards in all tasks and assignments.
- Perform all assignments in a safe efficient manner.
- Utilization of on-line work order system and distribute work flow in the most efficient manner.
- Perform any necessary repairs or maintenance as required or assigned.
- Conduct self as a resource for all departments of the resort.
- Maintain a professional image at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of mechanical areas, shops, tool carts and tools.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor
- Available for emergency contact.
- Available to work any shift as deemed necessary by Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
- Minimum 3 year experience in basic mechanical skills in plumbing, electrical, general repairs and painting /drywall repair.
- Must understand the usage of hand tools and some power tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and other associates.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction.
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- Proven ability to take charge and work with minimum supervision. Enjoys challenges and situations where solutions are not obvious.
- Ability to make correct decisions in a high stress environment; ability to multitask various problems or assignments.
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit;
- Must be 18 years of age or older;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards;
- Must be able to read, write and speak English;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
