Shipping Coordinator- Yadkinville, NC
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary shipping contact to manufacturing, material handlers, scheduling, carriers, and customer service. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers and Lydall associates.
- Understand and navigate efficiently throughout Oracle system procedures including EDI programs. Review the SOP/Control Plans as deemed necessary (layers, packaging, etc.). Document and review revisions identified to appropriate value stream manager for SOP/Control Plan revision.
- Schedule carriers and or suppliers to ensure outgoing and incoming freight schedules are processed correctly and timely with minimal premium freight. Complete and audit Federal Express and UPS shipments as required.
- Maintain department files. Locate and resolve discrepancies in quantity, styles, weights, ASN’s, etc. Effectively coordinate shipping and/or receiving issue resolutions with other departments and carriers.
- Prepare shipping labels as required.
- Perform Advanced Shipment Notifications per customer requirements.
- Modify or develop procedures or programs to meet shipping, receiving, customer, motor carrier, and/or supplier requirements.
- Be proficient in export documentation, NAFTA certifications, and AES contact.
- Immediately report any unsafe act or condition and ensure that the PPE per area meet requirements.
- Serve as an active participant in LSS programs that promote continuous improvement.
- Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules.
- Must be able to work extended hours when required.
