The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all the plant systems and equipment. Including but limited to balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors pulleys, shafts, and bearings. This Position must respond to all system failures by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure that systems are operational and functioning safely and efficiently.
- Basic welding
- basic 3 phase electrical knowledge
- safely operates tools and equipment needed during the repair and serving of equipment. Diagnose defects and repair a variety of equipment.
- Basic mechanics.
- Technicians are required to provide their basic tools to perform routine maintenance and repair of Equipment.
- Ability to multitask
- able to work from ladders or raised platforms.
- 2 or more years of experience in diesel engines
- brake repair
- Welding (preferred)
- 3 phases of electrical training (preferred)
- 2 or more work experience
- Performs repairs by OSHA. (Occupational and safety health act)
- Maintains DEI (Daily Equipment Inspection)
- Ability to solve complex problems with clear analytical thought, taking into account multiple factors and tradeoffs
- Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PM); Diagnose, repair, and rebuild major Equipment/ Components including but not limited to baler, conveyors, hydraulic power pack, eddy currents, electromagnetic belts, and compressor
- Diesel engine repair knowledge
