Site Safety Officer
Our client is an Indiana based construction firm which is seeking a Site Safety Officer to join their team.
Site Safety Officer Responsibilities
- Improve and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines and policies
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Establish and champion policies which will create and maintain a safe workplace
- Discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs
- Communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential.
- Ensuring each jobsite and workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- Maintains inventory of required safety PPE and other job site equipment required to maintain a safe and compliant worksite.
- Attend Pre-Construction meetings and events to offer guidance and resources when opportunities arise.
Site Safety Officer Requirements
- Experience working with Large Ground-up Projects
- 5 years of safety experience in construction, implementation and coordination of safety and loss control policy with a General Contractor
- Site-level experience with self-performing crews
- Safety experience with construction, masonry, carpentry, or cast-in-place concrete
Site Safety Officer Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Site Safety Officer Experience:
- construction safety experience with a CM or GC: 4 years (Required)
- ground-up construction safety: 4 years (Required)
- vertical concrete construction: 2 years (Required)
- ground-up healthcare construction: 1 year (Preferred)
- ground-up education construction: 1 year (Preferred)
- ground-up light industrial construction: 1 year (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
