Job description

1. Know and comply with the company’s safety rules, policies and OSHA regulations including injury/incident/near miss reporting procedures. Bring problems to attention of Foreman, Supervisor, Superintendent, Safety Director, or Human Resource Manager.

2. Provide all vehicles and equipment are in good working condition

3. Ensure service to field operations (road calls), especially in times of unexpected breakdown in need of immediate repair

4. Review equipment and vehicles for efficiency and repair as needed or recommend for replacement or disposal

5. Use outside vendors to service vehicles/equipment if necessary

6. When investigating accidents, confer with operators and crew members to determine extent, and cause of damage

7. Provide operators with maintenance schedules on each piece of equipment

8. Perform routine scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, lubrications and tune ups

9. Work with asphalt plant operators to ensure plant is well maintained and repairs are made, and services are completed as necessary. Work with Shop Superintendent to ensure plant operators have proper guidance, materials, and tools to efficiently maintain the plant in a safe and efficient manner.

10. Record all repairs and maintenance performed and submit paperwork to supervisor

11. Work with supervisor and other crew members to keep shop building and contents in compliance with all OSHA and other pertinent safety standards

12. All other duties as assigned by supervisor
