The Salvation Army Chandler Corps is looking to fill a Social Services Aide position. The Successful candidate for this position will have experience in a social service setting, computer literate in Microsoft and Bridges software, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, and more.

The Social Services Aide will Assist with interviewing, evaluating, documenting, and providing assistance when applicable for the following services: food, shelter, clothing, utilities, referrals and any other assistance through the Social Service network of our community. This person will answer incoming calls, stock and maintain the pantry as well as client files.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience in social service setting preferred
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Bridges and Others
• Must be able to assist clients by effectively working with them for a positive outcome
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a pleasant phone voice and be able to receive and appropriately relay messages
• Ability to be part of a collaborative team
• Must be able to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
