We are a West Michigan health plan benefits administrator looking to hire an individual that has a desire to grow with us. We have a full-time opening for a Developer in our Information Technology Department.
The development team is responsible for the design, development and delivery of both internal and external software applications that are secure, reliable, easy to use and meet a variety business needs. As a member of this team, the Developer may be required to perform varying roles over the course of each project depending on the size of the project and team assigned. Developers may be assigned to multiple project simultaneously. The Developer may be called upon to troubleshoot and remediate issues in existing software, as well as extend existing software. Developers will work directly with stakeholders and other team members; they are expected to exhibit a high level of professionalism, take pride in their work and manage their time effectively.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- In response to reported issues, collaborate with stakeholders to understand the problem, identify the root cause, recommend and implement solutions to correct the reported issue.
- Exercise mindfulness of opportunities to improve existing applications or create new applications to better meet the needs of ASR and its clients.
- Participate in application development projects.
- Participate in broader team meetings and discussions.
- Mentor other developers.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology/computer science or minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a C# and ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC or equivalent technology.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with SQL Server.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with Visual Studio or similar IDE.

- Possess working knowledge of the web architecture pattern MVC, web services, and web APIs
