Job summary/overview
The Software Engineer II is responsible for creating CI / CD pipelines, build and deployment of releases, supporting developers, automating release process, and mentoring other DevOps engineers
Essential duties/responsibilities

• Creating CI / CD pipeline in Jenkins
• Preparing the packages for the release
• Supporting the developers and quality engineers in build / deployment issues
• Managing tools access to users
• Developing tools for release automation
• Documenting the release process
• Integrating release tools
• Deploying packages in on-prem and cloud environments
• Upgrading the environments with the latest release
• Upgrading release tools
• Monitoring release tools in onprem / cloud

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent and/or related work experience.

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

• AWS certification preferred

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps / Build-Release role
• Solid programming skills in Python
• Should have the hands-on experience in Jenkins scripted pipeline
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts
• Kubernetes cluster monitoring, alerting, and logging experience
• Hands on experience in Ansible and Git repositories
• Strong knowledge in Maven / Gradle
• Hans on experience in Linux environments
• Release process automation experience
• Experience in AWS

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
• Strong knowledge and understanding of both state and federal employment laws
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Willing to learn, be proactive and think creatively
