SGSS has an immediate full-time opening for a senior test engineer. Work site locations are available in Virginia, Colorado, or Florida. The position will be responsible for software integration and development of the Virtual Mission Operations Center (VMOC) software. VMOC is a web-based satellite management tool. The Test Engineer is responsible for running regression, feature, and integration testing. The successful candidate will have the ability to identify and troubleshoot potential software defects and effectively communicate with developers to investigate and resolve test anomalies. Team members also assist in analyzing requirements, user stories, and documentation as well as communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Team members contribute to test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, or other related field of study
- Not less than five (5) years of relative professional experience
- Previous experience designing, developing, and executing test cases
- Systems Engineering experience
- Writing requirements, use cases, and test verification approaches
- Familiar with Unix based operating systems and the command line interface
- Interacting with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSql)
- Testing software application program interfaces (APIs)
- Writing and executing test scripts (e.g. JavaScript, Python)
- Test related Certification or accreditation
- Test automation tools (e.g. Selenium)
- Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration Tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket etc)
- Performance and stress testing concepts and performance measurement tools (e.g. JMeter, Prometheus)
- Continuous integration techniques and technologies
- Satellite Systems, Satellite Operations, and/or Aerospace Engineering concepts
- Agile development concepts
- Cloud computing concepts
