PDS Tech is looking for a SolidWorks PDM Administer in San Diego, CA with an Engineering background and experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration of the Solidworks Product Data Management (PDM) system. This is a position within the engineering group responsible for maintenance of PDM/CAD systems, databases, and infrastructure. This position supports all users, establishes and documents standard processes and procedures, conducts ongoing training, and helps facilitate across functional departments.

In this position, the individual will:

  • Coordinate with Information Technology and the other key system stakeholders to ensure proper integration. Your Key Responsibilities Responsible for maintenance and administration of PDM systems, databases and infrastructure. Including development and optimization of the system.
  • Support users (current and new) with troubleshooting. Perform root cause analysis debugging hardware and software issues and work to develop, test, and implement fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop best practices for the Engineering and Manufacturing organizations regarding product structure, naming conventions, part descriptions, drawing standards, etc.
  • Maintain and execute disaster recovery, security, PDM data backup and restoration plans and policies. Manage licenses for all PDM and CAD software and modules.
  • Maintain User access control. Ensure sensitive CAD data (e.g., parts, drawings, assemblies, Bill of Materials (BOMs), etc.) are safeguarded and managed for cleared personnel.
  • Train personnel on CAD, PDM and drawing standards used within the Engineering and Manufacturing organizations.
  • Support of projects including the development or advancements of design utilizing CAD best practices.
  • Develops relationships with outside engineering systems vendors and solution providers and our internal Information Technology group.
  • Strong technical experience in PDM or similar administration.
  • Have Experience working with large CAD assemblies

Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma is required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of solid modeling and five (5) years PDM Admin experience
  • Demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of standard drafting policies and manufacturing processes including product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
  • Knowledge of project engineering activities (task plans, schedules, etc.)
  • Effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
  • Strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Proficient in SolidWorks.
  • Admin level proficiency in CAD Data Management Applications.
  • 2-year Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting.
  • Experience with Aerospace

Job Type: Full-time
