POSITION SUMMARY: The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist is involved in the day-to-day flow of the Charlotte Radiology Vein Centers. performing ultrasound examinations on all patients who present to the centers for pre and post op scanning. They work hand in hand with the physicians during the vein treatment procedures, providing scanning for vein access and treatment tracking.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Documentation of clinical history, evaluation and scanning using ultrasound technology to evaluate patient's venous system pre and post procedure
  • Explain clinical details of scans and procedures to patients
  • Evaluation of MD dictated reports post visit to ensure accuracy
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
  • Associate Degree/Junior College in Ultrasound
  • ARDMS, RVT, CPR required
Experience (years and type):
  • Prior experience in EVLT/RFA closure is preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Radiology and Vascular
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Clinical details of procedures and scans performed within Vein Centers, and flow of vein treatments
  • Medical Terminology
  • Charlotte Radiology policies, procedure and guidelines
  • Operation of ultrasound machines
  • Knowledge of venous system, and appropriate scanning techniques to identify venous disease
  • Excellent organization skills, close attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer and technical skills
  • Excellent customer service skills[TC1] is a must
  • Team player
Travel Required (% of time):
  • 0-25%
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
  • Full day walking and standing
  • Minimal Lifting 25-50lbs.
Long periods of standing and walking at the bedside of the patients, with repetitive handwork
