Special Needs Coordinator
Job Title: Special Needs Coordinator Job Type: Part-time (15 hrs)
Reports to: cpKids Director

Purpose
The role of the cpKids Special Needs Coordinator is to multiply transformed followers of Jesus by developing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of an effective and inclusive support system for children with special needs. This role is committed to implementing the vision and mission of Chapel Pointe & its sites. This role requires a high level of relational collaboration and accountability, a firm grasp of the beliefs, values, and strategy of Chapel Pointe, and the ability to align curriculum and key leadership teams with its vision. This person functions in a highly collaborative role with the cpKids team to create environments and adapt lessons that guide children with special needs to encounter Jesus. They must be a team player, and have the ability to recruit, train, inspire, lead, and equip volunteers of all ages. Additionally, they must have a strong understanding of curriculum development, scope & sequence, and alignment with Chapel Pointe’s values and beliefs.
Ministry Expectations
Strategic Leadership
- Oversees the development of volunteer teams to create an inclusive church environment.
- Oversees the adaptation of curriculum to meet the needs of each child with special needs.
- Educates volunteer leaders in cpFamily on the importance of individuals with special needs and how to effectively include them in our ministries.
- Works with cpFamily volunteers and ministry leaders to identify and serve individuals with special needs.
- Manage a growth-oriented ministry with goals that align to the mission and vision of the church.
- Builds a team of volunteers that enable all kids to be a part of cpFamily programming at age-specific services and events.
Ministry Development
- Develops, maintains, and staffs a classroom environment that supports the unique needs of any child with special needs that needs a separate space.
- Present on Sunday mornings to support the team of special needs volunteers, connect with families, and help assimilate new families.
- Recruits, processes, and trains volunteer teams to support the unique needs of special needs families.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of ministry experience preferred
- Special needs experience required
- Multi-site experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
