Job Description Summary
The search will remain open until the position has been filled.

BASIC FUNCTION :
Perform assignments-related functions for the university’s housing program. (This is a 12-month, live-out position.)

Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Assist in the development and communication of housing assignment policies and procedures.

Prepare and conduct presentations, meetings, and trainings.

Assist in the development and publication of marketing and communication mediums related to housing for students, including current and prospective students.

Serve as primary liaison with peer departments, including Enrollment Management, Disability Services for Students, Athletics, Dining and Office of Community Standards.

Develop, update, and maintain system documentation and training materials for functional users of housing database as it pertains to assignments.

Manage and resolve issues that arise due to housing assignments. Collaborate with residence hall and Housing Customer Service staff.

Assist in the management of room assignments, room changes & room cancellation processes.

Assist in the oversight of housing applications for incoming students and room registration process for returning students.

Create a welcome, responsive, and inclusive environment for customers.

Assist with forecasting occupancy trends, including actual to budget comparisons. Utilize best practices regarding departmental and institutional data.

Assist with Academic, Summer, Early Arrival and J-Term programs.

Manage Graduate Village onboarding of new tenants and outboarding of old tenants.

Manage and resolve billing disputes and reconcilement processes, including utilization of lock, dining, and enrollment audits.

Serve as a central point of contact for billing disputes and adjustments.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Serve on university, division, and department committees as needed.

Participate in position searches as requested.

Serve as backup to Assistant Director.

Perform other duties as assigned.

LICENSES , TOOLS , AND EQUIPMENT :

Personal computers, printers, word processing, database management, spreadsheet software. Occupancy management and enterprise resource planning systems.

Required Qualifications
REQUIRED :

1. Bachelor’s degree.

2. Minimum of one year of professional experience in the area of occupancy management (i.e., managing room assignments, room changes, room cancellation processes, etc.)

3. Demonstrated supervisory experience in residential life.

4. Demonstrated training experience.

5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

6. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

7. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.

8. Demonstrated experience with computer software and systems (i.e., occupancy management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems).

9. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

10. Demonstrated familiarity with data management.

11. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends on a periodic basis as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED :

1. Master’s degree.

2. Demonstrated experience with Housing Director (THD).

3. Demonstrated experience in a higher education housing operation.
