seeks applicants for the following:
Speech/Language Pathologist
Part-Time – Flexible Scheduling
DUTIES: The Speech/Language Pathologist functions as a member of the transdisciplinary team in the RAISE early intervention program for families with infants and toddlers who have developmental delays and/or disabilities or who are at high risk for delay. The RAISE early intervention program is part of the Infant & Toddler Connection of the Rockbridge Area.
Specifically, the Early Intervention Speech/Language Pathologist:
- Assesses communication skills of infants and toddlers.
- Along with the team, develops Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
- Provides Part C early intervention supports and services to families with children who are eligible. Services are provided in homes and other community settings, and by telework.
- Maintains all appropriate documentation to meet agency requirements, Medicaid and insurance requirements, and the requirements of the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia’s Practice Manual for Part C early intervention services. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of a Master’s in Speech and Language Pathology. Must be licensed in the state of Virginia. At least one year of related experience is preferred. Valid VA’s driver’s license with safe driving record required. Must be eligible for certification by the State Lead Agency for early intervention (DBHDS) as an Early Intervention Professional (see the Practice Manual – Chapter 12, Personnel).
Must have thorough knowledge of speech/language and early childhood development, ability to assess communication skills of young children, an understanding of disabilities and delay and their impact on development, skills in coaching parents and other caregivers, ability to work as a member of a team, strong communication skills, and excellent paperwork/computer work and organizational skills.
