CONTRACT:

  • Contract Length: 44 weeks (prospective end date 5/31/2023)
  • Shift: 8:00AM to 4:00PM
  • Days: Monday - Friday
  • Pay Rate: $35/hr
  • Guarantee 37.5 hours
  • Quick Start, completion bonus

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree and 2+ years of experience, or equivalent
  • Active License
  • ASHA card
  • Ability to build rapport with mature patients
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Expert in communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to evaluate, design, implement, and interpret a therapy treatment program to aid patient recovery and achieve the optimal potential for the patient.
  • Ability to perform direct patient care to address cognitive or social communication problems, speech and language disorders, and swallowing or feeding disorders to improve, prevent or limit disabilities.
  • Provide aural rehabilitation and augmentative or alternative communication systems for patients.
  • Provide personal attention and progressive restorative therapy to achieve highest level of recovery and function.
  • Consult with patients, listen to patients, observe their physical condition and symptoms and review their medical history and referrals from doctors.
  • Teach exercises and techniques to improve and rehabilitate condition.
  • Maintain patient records by keeping track of goals and progress while adapting treatment plans accordingly and provide reports.
  • Advise patients and their families on treatment options and what to expect from the recovery process.
  • Compassion and empathy for patients.
  • Physical stamina to spend long hours teaching and modeling exercises.
  • Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients and motivate them.
  • Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly and effective environment for rehabilitation and therapy.
