Skybound is seeking s proactive Sr. Accountant,GAAP to join our team. This individual will need to be well-rounded with strong mechanical and technical knowledge of accounting and working with multiple entities & currencies. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and analysis of the company’s monthly GAAP financial close process, financial statements and management reporting. Additional emphasis will also be on the Company’s control environment in evaluating areas of enhancement and improvement. As a critical member of the team, this position will also support quarterly and annual filings, external reporting as well as ad hoc special projects. The individual must be well organized, flexible, and extremely detail oriented.

Reports: This position will report to the VP Accounting

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Thorough involvement and integral contributor to the full cycle accounting process
• Maintain overall accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, and ensure financial statements are in compliance with US GAAP and organization policies
• Ensure revenue recognition complies with ASC 606 and can support preparation of rev rec and technical memos
• Responsible for month-end close process by producing relevant journal entries, reviewing and investigating anomalies, performing P&L variance analysis and preparing month-end accruals
• Coordinate cross functionally with all levels of employees, management, and external parties as part of the month end close process and to support the organization
• Prepare and review monthly reporting packages and provide detailed financial insights
• Prepare and/or review monthly Revenue Analyses to measure performance across all Business Lines
• Perform periodic internal audits in receiving, shipping and production areas, testing adherence to company defined policies and procedures
• Review inventory discrepancies to identify root causes and either recommend corrective actions or enter transactions in inventory system
• Assist VP Accounting in coordinating month-end close and ensuring all deadlines are met

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606
• A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to leverage technology for efficient data gathering and analysis
• Ability to manage deadlines and accurately process data under time limited restraints
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with other departments, vendors, and upper management
• Experience with ERP systems, specifically Sage Intacct, a plus.
• Ability to pivot and prioritize work
• Ability to demonstrate a positive and flexible work attitude
