Sr. Analyst, Revenue Accounting is responsible for managing the revenue close process and revenue recognition matters. Responsibilities include working directly with various stakeholders on understanding contracts and gross to net calculations. This position reports to Associate Director, Revenue Management


Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and early identification of potential risks
  • Perform accurate & timely accounting and analyses of all sales discounts, rebates, chargebacks, returns and allowances included in the calculation of gross-to-net revenue
  • Understand key contract provisions and business practices, and ensure accounting impact is properly evaluated
  • Analyze, explain and meaningfully summarize gross to net variances
  • Prepare monthly revenue related journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform accurate and timely accounting and analyses with meaningful variance explanations
  • Calculate, review and upload point of sale gross to net accrual percentages
  • Prepare audit schedules and actively participate in reviews and year-end audit
  • Lead account specific internal reviews with upper management, reviewing monthly activity and trends
  • Engage with various departments to reduce revenue leakage and improve balance sheet reserve precision
  • Assist with special ad hoc projects

Qualifications

  • Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including as it relates to Revenue Recognition and Gross-To-Net accounting
  • Experience in managing teams with an emphasis in people management and team development
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently with minimum guidance within a team environment
  • Strong SAP, MS Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative, guide and influence others toward goal achievement
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry Gross-To-Net accounting
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting (or country equivalent). CPA, CMA and MBA preferred
  • Demonstration of key finance competencies, qualifications, and minimum 3-5 years of experience with emphasis on pharmaceutical industry gross to net accounting
