Job Summary: Sr. Design Engineer

Reporting organizationally to the Director of Engineering, the candidate will join the Engineering group in the design and drafting of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping systems, and other custom static equipment.

Job Purpose:

The position is responsible for the design and drafting of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, piping systems, and other custom static equipment. This position interfaces with external customers and internal departments to develop precise calculations and detailed drawings for fabrication. The ideal candidate will be a motivated problem solver and very detail-oriented engineer who values creating custom equipment and enjoys seeing their designs become reality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform vessel calculations to meet ASME Section VIII Division 1 or Division 2, TEMA, PED, CRN, API codes as applicable to the individual project.
  • Complete 2D/3D detailed Drawings and Bill of Materials for customer approvals and shop fabrication.
  • Interface with customers, project managers, quality control, and production to ensure smooth workflow of each project.
  • Act as the main Engineering contact for a given project from concept to shipment.
  • Work cohesively with a small group of skilled Engineers to maintain a high level of quality design and execution.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in design/calculation/drafting of pressure-containing equipment.
  • 5+ years of experience with ASME Section VIII Division 1 pressure vessel design code.
  • AutoCAD/Inventor or similar 3D software and MS Office.
  • Experience with TEMA, API 650/620, PED, & CRN are desired.
  • Experience in the use of FEA software is desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft Projects and/or the scheduling of multiple-assembly fabrication projects is desired.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to effectively translate technical data to non-technical employees.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and critical milestone schedules.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in the process industry.
  • Professional Engineering License is desired/beneficial.

Compensation:

Competitive Annual Base Salary, dependent on experience and qualification.
