We are seeking a Sr Human Resources Generalist to join our Orchard/Bluestem Brands Fulfillment Center located in Eatonton, GA.
The Sr. Human Resources Generalist will contribute to the companies’ growth by providing professional, cost effective, and timely partnership, thought leadership, strategy, and exceptional service. Key responsibilities of the role include short and long-term HR strategy, recruiting, staff and leadership development, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, and select training. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves Role, and would be a great fit for an HR professional with a strategic and operational mind set.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with Leadership in driving the business:
- Initiates, assesses, develops, and drives HR strategies that optimize Employee Engagement and business results.
- Partners with assigned business units to achieve Corporate, Team and individual goals.
- Functions as an active participant on the Management Team in our Eatonton Distribution Center.
- Facilitates initiatives and programs as appropriate and applicable.
- Analyzes data (i.e. employee survey data, turnover data, etc.) to develop solutions for maximizing Employee Engagement and business results
- Develops, interprets, and communicates Policies and Procedures to the Team.
- Partners with Leadership to design and develop employee discipline, corrective action programs, and professional development plans.
- Provides guidance, training, and support to Supervisors on employee issues.
- Responds to inquiries, identifies issues, and guides the development of solutions to complex and diverse challenges with tact and discretion.
Manage and Conduct Human Resource Operations:
- Facilitates and oversees New Hire Orientations and Onboards new/converted Associates.
- Conducts Exit Surveys and Exit Interviews for Exempt Employees.
- Assists with Employee Safety and Wellness Programs.
- Stays up to date regarding Employment Law and current HR trends .
- Provides information to HR Management for scheduled and ad hoc reporting.
- Performs additional duties and participates in other activities as assigned.
- Manages support and administrative employees as necessary.
Recruitment and Selection
- Collaborates with Talent Acquisition/Recruiting to develop strategies and actions for sourcing and selecting top exempt/non-exempt talent to fill existing or planned vacancies.
- Develops sourcing and grass roots contacts that will effectively support the identification and placement of qualified candidates.
- Collaborates with the Hiring Team on the internal Job Requisition posting process and screens internal candidates for potential promotion and/or career development.
- Assesses staffing options, collaborates with Talent Acquisition and proposes processes that will support the achievement of business goals during peak and seasonal periods.
- Collaborates, researches and initiates potential solutions to address and resolve backlogs in the sourcing and selection process.
- Develops advertising methods that minimize expense and maximize the response of qualified applicants.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources (equivalent experience in Organizational Development) and 5-7 years of progressive HR Experience OR an equivalent combination of Education and Experience.
- A Certificate in Human Resources from a recognized organization (i.e., PHR, SPHR) and/or equivalent Experience may be substituted in lieu of Education.
- Extensive experience in the following: managing direct reports, Recruiting, Leave Administration, and Benefits.
- Is highly computer literate with extensive software skills and competencies. This includes: MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint), familiarity with ADP/HRIS, Sharepoint, Ultipro, UKG and Success Factors a plus.
- Demonstrates the proven ability to strategically analyze situations and prioritize based on scope and urgency.
- Is comfortable with ambiguity, resourceful, agile and action-oriented.
- Models strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across HR Teams in multiple locations.
- Ability to engage and communicate professionally and effectively with all Fulfillment Center teams, cross functional teams and Senior Leadership.
- Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately and thoroughly.
- Full understanding of HR functions and best practices, exposure to Labor Law and Employment Equity Regulations and experience with Payroll systems and best practices.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information at multiple levels.
- Thrives in a fast paced, ever changing environment and can strategically problem solve when faced with ambiguity.
- Strong data analyzation skills with the ability to apply analysis to decision making by breaking down large issues into smaller, workable parts to identify trends, offer recommendations and propose solutions.
- Exhibits strong active listening skills to understand core issues and positively influence and guide the Team.
- Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information and uses discretion at all times.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel as required
