Position Summary:

The Senior Manager of Talent Management is responsible for leading a portfolio of talent management processes and practices across the enterprise. This role will focus primarily on the ongoing management and optimization of our talent review, succession, and related job & organization development initiatives. This role will partner with business leaders to develop Success Profiles and related materials for critical roles, oversee enterprise talent review and succession planning, and develop and implement follow-up protocols to accelerate the development of high potential talent.

The role offers the opportunity to lead development initiatives at scale across the enterprise and requires close collaboration with leadership and human resources partners. The ideal candidate will be passionate and experienced in talent management, job design, assessment, and development practices. The Senior Manager will report to the Director of Leadership & Succession Development.

This position is open to remote work. Penske’s corporate offices are located in Reading, PA, 75 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Candidates would be expected to travel as necessary for work and/or development opportunities (less than 10% of the time).

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support growth of the organization through development and execution of effective enterprise talent management practices. Design, deliver, and evaluate customized leading-edge Talent assessment and planning processes and resources that link business strategies to individual and organization performance.
  • Drive short and long-term plans to scale effective talent review and succession planning processes across the organization and provide critical insights about talent. Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Talent Development, HR, business leaders, etc.)z to analyze talent and succession data, track trends, and develop targeted recommendations for action.
  • Consult with senior leaders on the identification of critical roles and customize future-facing talent strategies that will strengthen future organization performance. Leverage strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively with leadership and all levels of the organization
  • Other projects as assigned by the Director, Leadership & Succession Development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related area of study (i.e., OD, HR, I/O Psychology) or equivalent experience required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Solid base of professional certifications and qualifications within Talent Management required
  • 5 years of Talent Management experience required
  • Must have deep subject matter expertise in talent review & succession planning, adult development, job analysis, and organizational development
  • Excellent communication, project and program management, and influence skills required
  • Sincere hunger to learn
  • Personal humility and professional will
  • Understanding of psychometrics and working knowledge of a number of psychological assessments preferred
  • Strong executive presence and interpersonal skills; organization savvy and quickly garners credibility with senior executives as well as associates at all levels of the organization required
  • Self-directed, problem-solver who works well in ambiguous and complex organization processes and systems
  • Excellent individual and organizational diagnostic skills and a bias for action

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
