Senior Social Media Producer, InstagramThis is a remote-based position
In the past few years, younger Americans have brought renewed energy and focus to the reckonings with justice, equity and power. Reckon has been there, covering those movements, issues and perspectives and shining a light on the people in the South and elsewhere.
Now, we’re elevating our work to a national stage, and we’re looking for a Senior Social Media Producer with a focus on Instagram who can help us grow our main account and reach new audiences across the U.S. through engaging, visual, on-platform storytelling.
The person in this role will be Reckon’s primary brand manager for Instagram, developing a voice and platform-specific strategy to engage with a national audience. We’re looking for someone with big ideas who’s not afraid to try new approaches to reach more people.
While the initial focus will be on Instagram growth, this role could expand to include other social platforms as well.
Responsibilities
- Create and schedule daily content for Instagram grid posts, stories and Reels.
- Develop a consistent aesthetic for Reckon’s storytelling.
- Collaborate with video producers to create high-performing Reels and advise the team on best practices.
- Identify opportunities to engage in trending conversations and create posts and stories related to those topics.
- Start conversations and engage with Reckon’s audience in comments and DMs.
- Experiment with polls, Q&As, callouts, AMAs and other engagement tactics for real-time reader interaction.
- Follow best practices and advise Reckon team on trends and ways to optimize content for Instagram.
- Constantly monitor analytics and adjust accordingly to meet our audience growth goals.
