SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Tax and Compliance Administrator and according to established policies and procedures, the Senior Staff Accountant performs a variety of administrative and accounting duties in order to maintain accurate financial, tax and billing records and reports. Observes confidentiality of client and law office matters. Assists in preparation of financial analyses, budgets and reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare the interim fixed asset updates and year-end fixed asset roll-forward schedule.
2. Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual sales and use tax returns.
3. Responsible for monthly subsidiary accounting and financial reporting
4. Prepare annual property tax returns
5. Prepare and file monthly Delaware gross receipts return
6. Preparation of annual professional liability insurance renewal
7. Prepare Capital Expenditure Survey
8. Prepare Chicago annual lease return
9. Prepare Chicago annual non-titled property return
10. Reconcile monthly medical administrator invoice.
11. Preparation of bank reconciliation for the main operating account in 3E
12. Review certain bank account reconciliations (other than the main operating account)
13. Complete various year-end tasks related to the Firm’s review and tax return preparation.
14. Manage the incoming 1099s received by the firm
15. Assists with the preparation of special Excel projects, as required.
16. Prepares reports as requested by the Firm’s management on a monthly or on an as-needed basis.
17. Assists with Chrome River testing and configuration changes.
18. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Knowledge of accounting and financial management principles in order to provide financial reports at a level normally acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
2. Five to seven years of progressively responsible accounting work experience.
3. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
4. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff in person, by e-mail and telephone to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
5. Analytical skills necessary in order to conduct complex and detailed analysis on various accounting problems.
6. Work occasionally required a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties.
7. Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
8. Ability to operate standard office equipment including personal computer, copiers, typewriter, facsimile, telephone and 10-key calculator.
