Staff Accountant
The Freeman Corporation is one of the largest and most progressive veneer manufacturers in North America. We continue to invest heavily to be the supplier of choice to the top producers worldwide of flooring, doors, hardwood plywood, furniture, cabinets, and other industries. At this plant we employ approximately 230 people.
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for assisting the CFO and Controller and other staff members, as needed, to ensure efficient processing of financial data including, but not limited to, data entry; accounts payable functions; accounts receivable functions; credit card administration; bank recs; 1099 processing; and insurance billing reconciliation. This position reports to the CFO.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist CFO in preparation of monthly financial statements
- Balance and reconcile accounts receivable.
- Prepare commission calculations.
- Crosstrain with A/P and A/R functions.
- Prepare credit card processing.
- Track and prepare monthly utility usage analysis.
- Track and analyze various supply inventories.
- File monthly KY Sales & Use tax returns.
- Using ADP, review and reconcile payroll tax returns.
- Prepare annual 1099 statements.
Education and Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum education of at least an Associate Degree in Accounting.
- At least 2 years’ experience in similar jobs.
- Should have very strong spreadsheet knowledge.
- Some knowledge of SQL/database systems and VBA.
- Proficient data entry/typing skills.
Pay and Benefits
- $50,000 - $55,000 per year based on skills, experience, and potential.
