Your Job
As a Staff Software Engineering at Indeed, you will help develop "wow" experiences for Indeed's engineers, allowing them to focus on helping people get jobs. You will join a team focusing on building out our next-generation cloud development environments. We’re bringing development to the cloud and making the everyday experience for our engineers the best we can so that they can help people get jobs.
You are comfortable being the technical leader for a team of engineers where everyone is learning new things on the fly. You have a strong understanding of AWS, Terraform and Kubernetes.
Projects
For the past year, our key focus as a team has been building out a first generation of cloud development environments (AWS and Terraform), supporting and expanding our Ansible-based machine provisioning automation, and working with teams that validate their highly distributed systems on our infrastructure. Upcoming projects include evaluating containerized dev environment options (kubernetes), and reducing friction for developers contributing to new projects.
Who You Are
Requirements
- 6+ years experience in Java, Python, or C++
- Proven experience with AWS, Terraform, or Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience providing technical team leadership and mentorship to other software engineers
- Demonstrated experience leading cloud architecture conception and implementation
- Customer-centric attitude and experience/interest working with internal-facing teams
Nice To Have
- BS in Computer Science or related area, or relevant work experience
- Experience building cloud development environments
- Extensive AWS experience and strong with both Terraform and Kubernetes
- Experience with Okteto, Docker, or Ansible

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
