- Promote mental health and well-being of employees through creation and implementation of engaging wellness and health programming and activities
- Research and provide direct outreach to external well-being support services
- Provide professional development around topics of mental health and well-being
- Establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the district.
- Researches evidence-based best practices, innovations and emerging trends to support staff mental health and wellness goals
- Provides leadership for project management in the development and implementation of district-wide wellness program
- Evaluate staff health needs, utilization of current health resources, and impact of services on the overall health of students and staff with ongoing progress monitoring
- Researches outside mental health and well-being agencies
- Acts as a liaison to develop and expand partnerships for coordination between district and outside agencies and organizations to provide an effective link to third party wellness services, including determining the best use of resources and facilitating equitable distribution of program
- Develop monthly calendar of staff activities supporting mental and physical well being
- Assumes responsibility for organizing, implementing, and assessing effectiveness of wellness and mental health activities district-wide
- Directs the provision and programming of staff health program services, including physical health, behavioral health and mental health.
- Determines training needs of department staff,principals and building staff
- Works collaboratively with LIOs, Cabinet, Principals to establish in-service Professional Development schedule for wellness principles and activities
- Collaborates with Communications Department to develop and maintain district wellness website page
- Utilizes adult learning strategies to promote staff engagement in wellness activities

The Staff Wellness Coordinator position serves an integral role in supporting those physical and mental wellness needs of our staff.
This position develops, implements, evaluates and monitors wellness program initiatives delivered to employee population. This position provides the necessary tools and resources for employees to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This position is a District Leadership Team position with responsibility to manage and coordinate assigned operations and functions of behavioral health and wellness for staff. The Coordinator will hold the vision of the strategic plan, promote safe and welcoming school cultures, and support culturally responsive practices within the behavioral health and wellness program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Organizational Wellness or closely related field.
Minimum of three years demonstrated classroom or clinical experience
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for minimum qualifications except for when there are legal requirements such as a licensed certifications/registration.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification in mental health, education, or social work
Knowledge of and experience with staff wellness programs
Experience designing and implementing professional development
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Demonstrated skill in coaching, advising, and partnering with leadership representatives across the organization
Ability to be a trusted advisor while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
Demonstrated skill in effective oral and written communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter, multi-faceted thinking
Demonstrated team player with experience working within a culturally diverse workplace.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Education or Organizational Wellness or closely related field
Experience in providing training for adult learners in the components of overall well-being
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Criminal background clearance
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance and access to reliable transportation
Must be willing to attend evening and weekend meetings

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position is evaluated by and reports directly to the Chief of Human Resources.
Position interacts regularly with Office of Equity Leadership, Human resources personnel; Learning Improvement Officers, Building Administrators. Position also interacts with various other certificated and classified staff throughout the district. Contacts with individuals outside of the district include but are not limited to partner agency representatives, other school district representatives, and outside vendors; and occasional contact with local, state and federal government officials, outside social services organizations, and various community groups.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly sit, stand and walk, bend neck and back, and use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling, hear and speak. The employee is frequently required to squat, kneel, use hands for fine manipulation, knee stand and push/pull. The employee will occasionally be required to climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 10 pounds and must frequently lift /carry up to 20 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum weight of 200 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must adjust to frequent interruptions in their work schedule. Evening and weekend work may be required. The employee may be required to travel (by car and/or plane) to a variety of locations.

This position is 12 months per year.
