Position Summary:

As a Therapeutic Assistant, you will always ensure theres a therapeutic community for patients and families. The Therapeutic Assistant will schedule patients to engage in recovery-oriented activities, including spiritual group, orientation groups, lectures, and topic groups throughout the day, as applicable. PRN employees must be able to work a minimum of 4 days per month (one Saturday and/or Sunday per month) in order to sustain PRN status.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient safety at all times
• Responsible for completion of and adherence to, all applicable policies and procedures
• Facilitate open/honest communication with peers and supervisor
• Maintain training requirements as defined by Cornerstone policy, the Joint Commission, and TN State Licensure
• Maintain a drivers license with an F-endorsement
• Must attend all mandatory meetings and staff meetings
• Help provide and maintain a therapeutic community for patients.
• Responsible for ensuring all patients follow scheduled program, as well as ensure patients are present for group activities.
• Assist in patient care by facilitating locker time and UDS collection on new and existing patients.
• Provide transportation in company vehicle for patients to and from facilities for various special groups, activities, etc.
• Assist with all searches: belongings, luggage, facility, and vehicle.
• Responsible for knowledge of incoming and outgoing patient arrivals at the airport and for transporting to and from Cornerstone.
• Coordinate and communicate can usage for outside 12 step meetings with all programs
• Monitor and actively supervise the patients maintaining a clean environment.
• Prepare and deliver lectures as requested within the scope of knowledge and training which may include AA Big Book/NA Basic Text Studies and other groups focused on 12 Step Recovery.
• Assist with administrating and scoring assessments.
• All other duties as assigned where permitted by experience, training, working conditions, and physical demands.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must possess a broad knowledge of the dynamics of recovery from chemical dependency including, but not limited to, knowledge of the 12-steps and schema therapy modalities
• Must demonstrate excellent typing skills
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills and be customer service oriented
• Able to work well independently and in a team
• The ability to work effectively with others from various backgrounds
• Required to have a Class D with F endorsement State of Tennessee Driver License
• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times per shift.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 4 days per month (one Saturday and/or Sunday per month), in order to sustain PRN Status

Education:

• High School Diploma required
