General Summary:
The Store Planner I is responsible for designing and managing store layouts, which include floor, fixture, merchandise and electrical plans for each site from beginning to completion. This position develops plans for new stores, relocations, expansions and renovations, as well as the responsibility of revising plans as needed. This is the first level position in the Store Planning Department, with the primary focus on learning how Store Planning supports the company’s strategic goals.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Create 8 – 10 floor, merchandise and fixture plans for new stores, relocations and expansions per week based on Store Construction requirements and recommendations
  • Ensure store plans are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (ADA, fire, basic construction codes, etc.)
  • Analyze layouts for potential problems in store plans and develop recommendations for resolution
  • Partner with Store Construction to ensure requirements and recommendations are met
2. Revise plans for new stores, relocations and expansions as needed or as requested
  • Ensure store plans are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (ADA, fire, basic construction codes, etc.)
  • Analyze layouts for potential problems in store plans and develop recommendations for resolution
  • Partner with Store Construction to ensure requirements and recommendations are met
3. Develop multiple calendar drawings to assist in preparation of store opening
  • Partner with Store Construction and Store Planning management to ensure drawings are complete and accurate based on final store survey information
  • Create final merchandise, fixture and graphics plans for the store opening package
  • Support store opening teams as needed
4. Create and manage project folders within Store Plan folders for assigned projects
5. Produce building material product orders for calendar drawings to include store fixtures, merchandising supplies, new store equipment, etc.
  • Partner with internal Purchasing team to ensure order accuracy and delivery timelines
6. Participate in cross training and project support opportunities across all positions within Store Planning
7. Partner with all positions in Store Planning to support initiatives across the department as dictated by business needs
8. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field of study.
Experience: Experience in AutoCAD, Construction, Site Planning and/or Space Planning Concept, Corporate or field based retail experience is preferred.
Job Related Skills: Ability to think outside the box is paramount. The ability to multitask is required. This person must be able to adapt very well to change, manage the interest of multiple groups while driving the project towards an overarching goal. Strong interpersonal skills are required.
Computer Skills: AutoCAD, MS-Office Applications
