Job description
We are seeking qualified candidates with 10+ years of professional experience in structural building type engineering, which includes experience in the management and delivery of design projects, working out of our Ft. Myers, Florida office.
What you’ll do:
- Duties will include the planning, design, and construction administration of a variety of vertical structure type projects
- Preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates; and peer review services of designs and reports prepared by others
- Project management, which includes working with internal and external clients, budgeting, and scheduling of work flow
- Work with the practice and discipline leaders as well as our marketing director to assist in proposal writing and other business development type activities for this locale
- Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites, and potentially to other W&S office locations
What you'll bring:
- BS in Civil Engineering is required, MS in Civil Engineering is a plus
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida is required
- NCEES Record and having passed the SE 16-hour exam are a plus
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation and REVIT are a plus
- Expertise with RISA, STAAD or other structural design and analysis software
- Working knowledge with the Florida Building Code (Building and Existing Building)
- Experience effectively managing the technical, budgetary and client aspects of projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Established relationships with local clients and teaming partners is a plus
- Experience with the structural engineering of bridges, or interest in supporting others in doing such work, is a plus
- Valid drivers license
