Job description

Employee will be responsible performing in depth sheet-metal repairs from inspection such as C-Check, D-Check or depot and reset level (heavy maintenance) and modifications on Gulfstream or similar aircraft in the corporate jet arena. The position will require the ability to make decisions related to the proper techniques and materials needed to perform the work. Some travel may be required to recover damaged aircraft or repair aircraft at the customer facility. Employee must be proficient in aircraft manufacturer support manuals to allow complete research into a repair programs or maintenance functions.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Technical License – A&P a plus
  • Minimum 1-3 years hands-on aircraft structures and modification experience in general aviation and corporate aircraft is a requirement
  • Knowledgeable of basic Composite Repairs (Cold bond / Wet Layout; Single skin or double skin repair; core replacement)
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Must have own hand tools to complete structural repair and mods tasks.
  • Understanding of aircraft manufacturers Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Structural Repair Manuals, Service Bulletins is a must.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, ability to communicate well.
  • Experience with Microsoft products and work order/ tech log software (such as corridor / Ebis / SAP etc.) a plus
  • No limitations on confined space entry and ability to lift 50 pounds
  • No drug or alcohol convictions within the last 5 years

The qualified candidate have an AVIATION background and will be servicing mostly Gulfstream’s. The qualified sheet metal tech will use a sheet metal brake to form complex brackets with multiple bends/angles; knowledgeable of: standard practices for airframe repairs and alterations; standard of metal finishes and materials; working with Engineering will design installations for repairs/alternations; read and accurately follow drawings and blue prints. Primary responsibilities are:

  • Maintain, modify and install the various components of aircraft sheet metal.
  • Repair, rework, install and fabricate the complex aircraft structural assemblies, both internal and external.
  • Will lay out plans, fabrication and installation models for modifications.
  • Studies the technical manuals, blue prints and engineering drawings.
  • A&P a plus.
