Pay Grade: Professional 3

This position works with College's Student Conduct and Community Standards Division to address and investigate student conduct issues at assigned campuses.

Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

  • Administers student disciplinary action to students who violate student regulations and
conduct standards established by the College

  • Adjudicates and investigates student conduct and behavior assessment cases; holds administrative hearings and determines sanctions as necessary

  • Plays a vital role in providing crisis response and assistance to students and college employees working with students

  • Responsible for assisting with individual and group crisis and emergency situations, providing mediation and other informed intervention to assist students in resolving conflict

Provides and maintains records and reports, as required

Provides conduct workshops for faculty/staff as required

Executes effective implementation and assessment plans in a timely manner

Collaborates with campus police and security services, and other support services to provide a civil, safe, and healthy campus environment

Serves as part of the campus behavioral assessment team

Responsible for building positive relationships with faculty and staff and providing proactive best practices for addressing student behavior

Ensures fair and timely conduct hearings

Educates faculty and staff about student/faculty rights, campus resources, classroom behavior management techniques, and informal/formal channels of conflict resolution

Consults with faculty/staff about individual student situations

Facilitates quality service delivery for all students
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations

Knowledge of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations as it relates to post-secondary education

Exhibits good interpersonal skills and works well with others

Able to maintain records accurately and to meet deadlines consistently

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Intermediate skills with MS Office products

Requirements:


Requires a BA/BS degree in Counseling, Student Personnel, or other related field

One year of experience working with Student Conduct in higher education

Experience working with adult students

Preferences:


Experience working with Maxient or other reporting software

Experience in student services

Two years or more experience working with Student Conduct
