As a Level 1 Auto Subrogation Claim Handler, you’re at the front lines of driving profitability for our company and our business partners. Your primary role is to fairly resolve auto subrogation claims with other insurance companies and third parties. The Hartford will provide you with paid training, as well as ongoing coaching and development to ensure your success.

Training Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM / Monday-Friday
Post Training Hours: Monday-Friday Core Business Hours
Responsibilities:
  • Achieve prompt and proper disposition of claim files involving established liability.
  • Establish negotiation and disposition strategies in order to achieve appropriate and cost effective claim outcomes.
  • Aggressively achieve a fair and equitable disposition of all damage disputes.
  • Plan, recommend and advocate our subrogation position to other insurance carriers.
  • Coordinate and manage a high caseload to ensure timely resolution of cases.
  • Provide excellent customer service through communications with our customers for the return of their deductibles.
  • Negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with other insurance carriers.
  • Accurately assess collectible damages.
  • Prepare files for arbitration & litigation.
  • Act as a liaison with other departments to revolve problems.

Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of auto adjusting principles is preferred.
  • Degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and investigative skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to perform in a high volume work environment.
  • Passion for customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and willing to learn, lead, be lead, all while supporting others.
  • Demonstrated a consistently high level of performance and achievement over career span.
  • Strong desire to launch career to the next level!
  • The ideal candidate will be flexible to ensure coverage of our core claim hours.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$40,960 - $61,440
