Roles & Responsibilities:

To provide clinical counseling services to patients and families.

Requirements:

  • Attends and participates in team meetings.
  • Conducts biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Does treatment planning.
  • Does individual and group counseling.
  • Documents treatment in medical record.
  • Presents at case conferences.
  • Manages the care of the assigned patients.
  • Participates in clinical supervision.
  • Provides reports of clinical services to supervisor when requested.
  • Make referrals to appropriate resources for the ongoing care of patients.
  • Keeps statistics of services provided.
  • Interfaces with managed care companies and referral sources to implement treatment plans
  • Provides consultation to patients throughout Roosevelt Hospital when requested.

Education Requirements:

At least a B.A. but M.A. preferred. Training in addiction counseling preferred

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of two (2) years providing counseling services to chemically dependent patients preferably in a methadone program. Experience working with MICA patients preferred.

Certification Requirements:

CASAC preferred but not required.
