Charlotte Behavioral Health Care (CBHC) is our area's largest not-for-profit provider of community-based behavioral health care, offering a full range of mental health and substance use services in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Englewood, North Port, Sarasota, and DeSoto and Lee Counties. Position Summary

Mental Health and Drug court are offered to individuals who have experienced a situation in which they have received legal charges. Our court services programs involve case collaboration between criminal justice and behavioral health treatment systems with the goal of diverting these individuals from the criminal justice system and into treatment. Programs involve identifying and addressing unique needs of the individual and require intensive treatment and community supervision. Participants are held accountable for their actions in an immediate, practical, and supportive way.

The outpatient substance use disorder program operates on the belief that most substance use problems are best understood as part of a process. This process affects each individual differently in all aspects of life.

Treatment includes individual and group counseling, dependent on the needs of the individual, with the following goals in mind:

  • Assist with rebuilding of relationships with family and friends,
  • Assist in identifying or developing support systems,
  • Assist with identification and implementation of skills to reduce the risk of relapse.

The program manager develops and maintains oversight for these programs, while maintaining an active caseload. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring program meets all internal and external standards,
  • Providing clinical assessments and other clinical services for patients, including development of treatment plans with measurable objectives,
  • Manage personnel, program, and budget

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a clinical setting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a management role.
  • FL License as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Mental Health Counselor or FL Certified Addiction Professional.
  • Knowledge of FL Marchman Act
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pass Level II Background clearance, drug test (CBHC is a drug free workplace)
  • Computer proficiency
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment in collaboration with other community partners.
  • Valid FL driver's license, insurance, and a safe driving record.
  • Dependable transportation (registered, safe operating conditions, etc.)
